Guest guest
Carol, I got a avocado tree to sprout and grow 2 1/2 feet. Should I just keep it indoors and what likely is its future? Should I add fertilizer. I am a very avocational gardener. Thanks Doug From: algaelady1 <carol@...> Subject: Garden Contest - OT candidiasis Date: Sunday, August 29, 2010, 2:13 PM Â Just a few days left to vote for this garden in the online gardening contest - http://www.yardshare.com/myyard.php?vote=1 & yard_id=450 - thanks everybody. Guest guest
Doug, it's ok to leave it outdoors in the summer, but if it gets colder than 40-45 deg. in the winter where you live then you will need to bring it inside. You can fertilize it in the spring to encourage new growth. You'll have to keep it trimmed to fit your space (if you bring it inside), because they will grow to be around 50' tall if left outside full time. You'll probably have to keep transplanting it into bigger pots, as the roots are vigorous.
