Guest guest
the basic of life. So perfect for Winter indeed, come home cold and hungry and in 15 minutes it is on the table, healthy and delicious. I use lightly sprouted lentils as a base and then , separately I will take one yellow and one red onion, make them golden in a pan with olive oil and add the white of a chicken and veggies and cook the whole thing so it tastes so good. You could actually eat that mixture as it is, but I cook the whole thing with the lentils and water and then blend it. Mostly mushrooms, carrots, celery, cabbage, often some fresh seaweeds that I have soaks to get the salt out and restore them. First time I did not soak them it was awful! Could not overcome the salt. Recently we cooked the organic chicken bones in the pressure cooker long enough, the whole thing blended in a soup. It tasted pretty strong, but we got our calcium. it was OK with the veggies After that serve with miso, blond and dark. My husband adds sour cream to the mix, might say it is smooth. I add chopped cilantro. on an other subject When I have green or back tea left over and it is cold i give it to my sprouts, they seem to like it, no complaint so far. Keep growing strong and happy. I grow the cabbage/ broccoli in plates, they create a nice root system and hold together. I have found that after a few days in the easy sprouter they need more space. So I can keep them growing in the plate, rinsing twice a day, for at about 2 weeks. Eating some every day Now , broccoli is the main ingredient in Indol 3 Carbinol, a health supplement that Dr. recommends we take for dispersing estrogen and avoid too much concentration in any part of the body that could lead to cancer. But it is like $50.00 a bottle per month. Broccoli sprouts are much cheaper and good food too. I had one sprout of popcorn coming out of the ground, I planted them Nov. 10. I picked it up to taste. My God! this is as sweet as a fruit. the sweet taste lingered for a long time in my mouth. too bad it is like 3 shoots per tablespoon of seeds.
