B1 makes you smell bad to mosquitoes. For years, I was a mosquito magnet, and the bites turned into these HUGE welts. After several months of B1, I may get a bite once a week or so [without using repellent], and it is always small and tolerable. I took 200mg per day at first, now just 100mg per day. Guest guest
I think every little bit helps....but building up our immune systems...removing metals and viruses removing allergens and giving the gut a chance to heal is the main thing...so that the allergic respones don't develop or are reduced if they are there...but also the apple cider vinegar is a big help.... I think it is a lot of things....a compromised immune system reacts to everything!!! And I do mean everything!!!!! And getting it straightened up and allergies under control help more than anything. sorry to be so long answering Ronni > > do you think the b1 and b2 help? > On Jul 1, 2009, at 3:44 AM, ronnimike wrote: > > > > > > > We take b1....also b2...since they argue with each other....but we > > still get bit.....we wipe em down with Bragg's apple cider vinegar > > and it helps alot....no more huge wheals....which is a great thing > > for us... > > > Yes, oral. Guest guest
We wipe the bite with Bragg's apple cider vinegar....not sure why but it seems to be better....maybe our immune systems are just better...but it seems to keep it under control.....even on the little guys. Guest guest
Hi, if it is really that bad, you can rub a bounce dryer sheet on his body.. but i wouldn;t rub it, at first, i would simply place it in his pocket and see if this works for him.. it works for all the adults i know who use this method.. Also Avon skin so soft dabbed on the skin will repel mosquitoes ... i hope this helps.. Guest guest
I use essential oils mixed with olive oil or water. An essential oil desk reference will have several recipes. My favorite is an oil by young living called purification and lemon mixed. I brought this mixture camping in SD last month and everyone wanted mine over the OFF brand stinky chemical stuff. It works too! Guest guest
We mix a few drops of lavender, and peppermint, and thyme (or just one or two of them - whatever I have handy) into jojoba oil and rub it on exposed skin before going out. I've been pleasantly surprised by how well this works. Scented laundry products would cause rashes, eczema and sinus issues for us, so we had to do something else. > > Hi, if it is really that bad, you can rub a bounce dryer sheet on his body.. > but i wouldn;t rub it, at first, i would simply place it in his pocket and > see if this works for him.. it works for all the adults i know who use this > method.. Guest guest
yes 2 different oils. My essential oil desk reference had several recipes, but the others required 4 or 5 oils. sometimes with water mixes the sprayer gets clogged with the oils. I started making them with a base oil (Olive) and put it in a dropper bottle. DD tolerates that better, she does not like sprays on her. make sure you use a therapeutic grade oil like young living. There are other brands just get the quality ones, so many oils out there are for making candles and soaps are not as good. Guest guest
Herbal Armour keeps us from getting bit. If we are bit I put Meat Tenderizer on the bite and it keeps it from swelling up and itching like mad. (have to do this when you get the bite before the scratching starts though). The meat tenderizer also works on bee stings. I learned this from our holistic doctor. > > > > i need help every time we go outside my 2yr old son w/ asd gets > > > eaten up > > > by mosquitoes. > > > > is there anything i can give him to stop them before they bite? > > > > > > B1 makes you smell bad to mosquitoes. Guest guest
I do this too. I had bites from I don't know what all over me last spring & early summer & the ONLY thing that helped was a VERY hot shower. I would start hot & then gradually increase it. The itching was incredible at first but gradually faded away. By the time I would get out of the shower I would be bright red But it worked. And yes, sometimes I would get up in the middle of the night to do this! webriter wrote: > > > I taste wonderful to mosquitoes so they nearly suck me dry, and the > bites, well stings cause terrible reactions, itching that keeps me > awake, Here's is what I do since I don't 'do' drugs at all [i can't] > Hot water is my panacea, I use it for so many things, aches, > headaches, And mosquito bites even other itches. Guest guest
Actually, mosquitoes don't bite or sting. They cut the skin and then inject an anticoagulant. It is this anticoagulant that causes the problems for most people. After the anticoagulant is injected. The tongue, through a long tube, actually licks the blood up into the mosquito proper. I used to work at a county mosquito control division. I ended up with several classes on mosquitoes and how to control them.
