Guest guest
Hi Bill, I just know you weren't really chewing me out but just in case--I don't "harp" about call letters for radio and television stations. Goodness knows they have been around as long as those medias have. I wasn't aware that QVC was a TV show. Perhaps you haven't had the chance to try to read info that you feel is very important and find that initials are used rather than words, have you? In order for me to understand fully what's being said, I have to ask what the letters mean or sit here and not know what's going on for fear of being ridiculed for the fact that I don't like all the acronyms. I know it's been very hot here in TN and we are all wishing it would rain to water our gardens so, find a cool place to chill and don't worry. It will all work out in the end and I'll figure out what's being said or I'll ask. Hopefully it won't upset you again by my asking. This thread needs to be closed so, even though I'm not a moderator, I'm closing it for my part. I'm sorry Bill, that you got so defensive over my not knowing. Who plants a seed beneath the sod and waits to see, believes in God.ExoticPetsGardening ><}}}*> QVC is what the channel itself goes by and is the only designation I've ever heard for them. Course, since I don't shop through the TV. I've never investigated what QVC actually means. In this case, initials have long been used to denote both TV and radio channels. Remember ABC, NBC and CBS? They are still in use. So if you want to harp about it. Go to these three stations and complain. Come to think about it. RBK(or was it RBC?), was I think, the first radio broadcasting station aimed at the public. In any case, I don't want a war over which was first.Just take it that initials have been used for a very long time and likely will, till after all of us are dead and forgotten about.Bill
