I'm amateur etymologist, I go crazy over weird spellings and strange words from other words, and I'm not talking portmanteau here, it makes for extremely difficult tracing back for original meanings. I tried to help another student in high school with a paper, but ended up nearly re-writing it, she had taken the contraction could've and wrote could of, now how does one go about fixing a basic strange fracture like that? How can you fix the person's thinking?

oooohh!! I need a word person today! How do you spell entendre? Such as double entendre? Or am I spelling it correctly? I cannot locate it in the dictionary, yes, I still use a real paper, hard bound, dictionary.

Thanks, Shari

Hi Shari, I love words and enjoy spelling bees. Please use your word in a sentence so I know what word you are using.
