ATLANTA, Ga.

-- U.S. Homeland Security has quietly warned

security officials in Georgia and other states that it has

credible reason to suspect terrorists, possibly connected

with Al Quaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, are plotting to

poison Americans through salad bars. Channel 2 Action News

reporter Jeff Dore spoke with Dr.Gaylord at the

Georgia Poison Center “What a brilliant plan!” said.

Dr. had received the federal caution Monday before it

became public. He has thought about and planned for, and

against, terrorist poison attacks since the earliest

planning for the Olympics in Atlanta. “Think about it,” he

said. “If you’ve got someone employed in the food service

business, you could put those guys anywhere.” The two

poisons mentioned by the federal anti-terrorism experts are

cyanide, which has been included in mass deaths before --

Jim ’ Kool-aid drink contained cyanide -- and ricin.

Both appear in emergency rooms like food poisoning, until

the patient dies. “It would be scary!" Dr. said. "This

is what’s going to be great about alerting the public; this

thing is a real possibility."
