Guest guest
Hi Laurie, I agree that this is a challenging issue! There is so much fraud and greed in this world, including the health industry. I know there are a couple of subscription websites that test supplements for purity. They earn their money from the subscription fees and not sponsors. Unfortunately, I don't have the names, you will have to google to find them. You might also try Consumer Reports archives and maybe state/federal Consumer Protection Agencies. Other than that, I personally won't purchase herbs or supps from China. Can you let us know what you find out? Good luck. Peace on earth. Cheryl Looking for quality vitamins and supplements Switch to: Text-Only, Daily Digest . Unsubscribe . Terms of Use .. Guest guest
I have always used Maxi Life from twin labs. It is the best out there. Durk Pearson and sandy Shaw used it. Now I'm trying their new stuff from Life Enhancement Products. I will always swear buy what Durk and Sandy use. Just look up their credentials. Greg. YIKES! With so many brands available, it is mind boggling. I was wondering if anyone could recommend brands they consider good quality and without unneccessary additives. I looked at brands that are USP certified which verifies the quality, purity and potency but apparently that doesn't mean they are the best for you because I saw dyes in one product I looked at. Regarding purity, I think they just have to ensure any impurities are within the guidelines of being safe. Of course some manufacturers claim they are committed to producing quality products but even that doesn't mean anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Guest guest
Oh and they mostly sell the capsules of loose powder, not many of the hard pressed ones that sometimes don't dissolve and end up in perfect shape in the sewer. ~Katy Sheep to the right; His Lamb “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength" Isa 30:15 http://www.orchardhouseheirlooms.net/ survival seeds Christian-homesteaders/ biblical survival -- Looking for quality vitamins and supplements Hi Everyone.Renently I have seen or heard about supplements either not having the quantities of ingredients stated on the label or contamination of metals and even prescription drugs. Guest guest
That is a good point - not buying from China. Unfortunately, many companies won't tell you where their stuff is from, because many do not even know. Many of the isolated/synthetic ingredients are sourced from China, even though the supplement itself if made in the US. Some companies will tell you - I have researched many many of them years ago. And many many ingredients are from China. Personally, I would go with a whole food supplement (not isolated/synthetic ingredients) that is grown and made into supplement-form in the US. A whole food supplement has a one-word ingredient label. That's a whole food. Carol I personally won't purchase herbs or supps from China. Can you let us know what you find out? Good luck. > Cheryl
