I have used it, but not specifically for yeast. I've taken about a tablespoon a day for several weeks with no discernable negative effects. I consider it safe, and would use it for any sort of ingested poison. Lots of charcoal info: http://members.tripod.com/~healingtools/linksa.html best wishes, Moria

Hi Lori, For me, charcoal is great! It really helps with die-off, and not only. Negative experiences... My sister can't take it she gets constipated. Well, this is an old problem for her anyway, but charcoal makes it worse. It still solved her problem when she took it, but... the next 4 days... LOL!! she had a worse problem Valentina
Guest guest
We have used it to shut down reactions, but not to Nystatin. It does seem to work, even by itself. Lorilyn

I think this is correct. Here is some information compiled on charcoal - there are a few things you should not mix it with: www.enzymestuff.com/activatedcharcoal.htm . Guest guest
Acitvated Charcoal binds with a myriad of poisons and is used in hospitals for poisoning. It helped me a whole lot when I was having attacks from mercury. Just mix some in water or juice and drink down. For me, it also helped to take some sodium bicarbonate to neutralize the acidity at these times. ~Inga on 7/13/05 7:31 AM, Ramona Garrett at ramona@... wrote: What is the purpose of using activated charcoal? Usually used to absorb the toxins caused by yeast die off. You would want to give it 30-45 minutes after your yeast killer. You can purchase it at a local health food store. Guest guest
Dear Kandi, Activated charcoal comes in 2 forms....capsule and granulated. If your child can swallow a pill, the capsules are great. I wouldn't even know how to suggest getting the granulated stuff into a child as it looks like crushed charcoal...so crunchy ): Activated charcoal How do you give activated charcoal? I haven't looked for this product, but they name conjures up some negative images. Is it granules or a liquid? Kandi

Guest guest
CHrcoal absorbs all sort of toxins adn buinds up nicely with mercury tooas far as I can tell. I will take about a tsp or better mixed into juice or water. Try StarWest Botanicals to get the bulk powder so you won't go broke on the little capsules. (It is under the herbs section) ~Inga on 7/26/05 5:13 PM, pookiedoos at ramona@... wrote: > How much do you give? > > > >>> What is the purpose of using activated charcoal? Guest guest
> How much do you give? My kids don't have die off symptoms, so I have never tried charcoal. However, my " general rule of thumb " is to start with 1/4 the recommended dose indicated on the label. Dana
Guest guest
I use Nature's Way brand of activated charcoal purchased at my local health food store. It is inexpensive and works well. As my daughter swallows supplements, it comes in capsule form. I don't know how anyone gets the loose charcoal into a child as it is what it is, charcoal. I highly recommend it as it really works for yeast die off, intestinal disorders, especially when you suspect food poisoning. It also seems to help when my daughter is having a melt down and we don't know why. activated charcoal Could someone please tell me a good brand of activated charcoal that I can purchase from the health food store. I have never used it, but my son is on Nystatin, and I would like to try it to see if it helps the shrieking, and irritabilty. My DAN! Dr. actually suggested it, but didn't suggest a brand. He's almost 5 yrs. 40 lbs. how much would you suggest I start with, and how do you give it to him?? Has anyone ever had a bad experience on activated charcoal? Thanks. Amber. Guest guest
My son is almost 5 yrs, 40 lbs. would I give him a whole capsule after every dose of Nystatin? He gets it 3 times a day. How long after the Nystatin do you give it to them? Does it matter if you give it around anything else, like other supplements, or enzymes, or pro-biotics?? Thank-you for the info, . Amber. Guest guest
It is a bit grainy, and does not dissolve completely. You can't really get all of it down, but enough to do the trick. Guest guest
I remember trying all the tricks in the book to get supplements down my daughter when she was younger. One day I decided I had enough and took a pill, put it in my mouth, told her to " do this " and swallowed it. She amazed me by doing it and has been a pill swallower ever since. THANKS! for any guidance Just be careful not to give charcoal near the time of any supplementation except your anti-fungals. Charcoal will absorb the supplements, including the chelators, and render them ineffective. Dana
