An old question that used to come up - but there were not really good answers at

the time - but is was about the taking of CoQ10 IF one were on Mepron at the

same time....does anyone have information or thoughts about that??

Thanks: Glen

Dr. Burranscano is pretty much THE expert on LD; I think he recently closed

down his practice because of pressures/threats by the powers at be. You can

download his protocol (I think it's still on-line) A lot of dr.'s use it as a

guide for treatment; by the way, I am on 400mg of CoQ10; my LLMD prescribed it;

i don't think the brand is important as long as it is pharmaceutical grade; i

happen to take Advanced Medical Labs CoQ10 Max 400 High Absorbtion Formula. My

dr prescribes one a day but i just looked on the back of the bottle as the

suggested use is 1-3 a day!

+++Hi Amy. It is a very important nutrient, which is found mostly in red meats,

so taking it as a supplement isn't necessary.

I've not used this particular one , but it is my understanding that

Ubiquinol is the best form to try. If I give coQ10 to ds any time other than

morning, it disrupts his sleep.

Ive taken this brand for my b12 and found it more effective than other

brands of b12.

Have you tried looking for it at the nutricentre or mandimart? It

would save on import costs to the UK.

My mum takes Mercola's Ubiquinol, she finds it excellent. I believe this is the

only one which is not in bovine gelatin capsules. We got it from red23.co.uk

Kasia,

Was trying to get something from the UK (we're in Sweden)as our postman often

stuffs up with parcels, especially those from the States but will look into the

bovine gelatin capsules, I have no idea what they are.

Take these items away from that long read:1) What is CoQ10?  It is a fat-soluble vitamin-like substance present in

every cell of the body and serves as a coenzyme for several of the key

enzymatic steps in the production of energy within the cell. It also functions

as an antioxidant which is important in its clinical effects. It is naturally

present in small amounts in a wide variety of foods but is particularly

high in organ meats such as heart, liver and kidney, as well as beef, soy

oil, sardines, mackerel, and peanuts. To put dietary CoQ10 intake into

perspective, one pound of sardines, two pounds of beef, or two and one

half pounds of peanuts, provide 30 mg of CoQ10. CoQ10 is also synthesized

in all tissues and in healthy individuals normal levels are maintained

both by CoQ10 intake and by the body's synthesis of CoQ10. It has no known

toxicity or side effects. 2) Take with fat or oil " CoQ10

was given orally in divided doses as a dry tablet chewed with a fat containing

food or an oil based gel cap swallowed at mealtime. " 3) It's a substance found in the body " CoQ10 likewise is found in small amounts in a wide variety of foods

and is synthesized in all tissues. The biosynthesis of CoQ10 from the amino

acid tyrosine is a multistage process requiring at least eight vitamins

and several trace elements. " So that's the basis. If you know anyone taking any statins drugs they should know that statins (Lipitor etc) will deplete CoQ10.  It's in the patent for the drug Lipitor.  More info here: http://www.spacedoc.net/statins_CoQ10.htm

Hope that helps!SkipOn Tue, Feb 22, 2011 at 4:08 PM, SV <shavig@...> wrote:

My father has MD and his eye doctor suggested lutein, so I decided to take it

too. The one I buy is from our health food store - it's their own brand. It's

20 mg. lutein, and also has zeaxanthin (another eye vitamin) and bilberry in the

capsule.

I have him on a multi with 10 mg lutein in it but don't know if it's enough.

When I look for lutein supplements they always have other vitamins and minerals

with them which would make it too much of these others with the multi.

Me too - I eat lots of greens and veggies too. But since MD is in the family, I

decided to add the extra lutein. Egg yolks are also a good choice for lutein.
