Once every 20 years is not so bad. But , you must learn how to use a knife properly! Don't lay your fingers out straight! Curl them as if you were holding a ball in your hand. Then the knife blade can touch your knuckles and slide up and down them without cutting you.Gayla, who should shut up because she hit her finger with an 8 pound sledge hammer. If it works for a hammer blow to the thumb it has to have comfrey in it, also if you use that and chickweed in a poltice it will heal sprains, bruising, minor breaks etc. even if a knee gets out of joint, after popping it back a poltice like this will pretty much take care of it in two days.

Kids at school (I work in a culinary school) are required to wear cutting gloves, closest thing to chainmail.

Sorry , I started to laugh and thought "goofball......" but I know it probably hurt like a m......... I stuck my finger in a juicer one time - don't ask, but I can laugh about it now.
