The Xiphoid Process

Hello,

Anyone know why this area would always be swollen and painful to touch?

Soreness also extends into the lower rib on both sides. It's been like this

for a very long time and does not seem to be getting any better.I really

don't want to go to a doctor and get tests if it's nothing to worry about.

I've read on google that's it's a cartilage but don't know what the

inflammation of it could mean. I'm now having pain in my back in about the

same area. Don't know if there is any connection.
