Guest guest
This sounds really good Liz. Do you have to join WW first to find out the point system? How do you know what food has what points? Paying to join another weight loss is more than I can do right now but it really sounds good. Lvoe, Hi Connie, I've been doing something called the " Wendie Plan " It's a form of WW, however you eat different points ea. day and are allowed to eat a lot of points on one day. The idea is to keep your body from going into starvation mode. Before, I was doing the old WW plan eating 25 pts. a day plus my exercise pts. which is normally 3. So I ate 28 pts. almost everyday. With this new plan my points vary everyday of the week. Some days my points are 20 which is tough but it isn't as bad because I know the next day I can eat more. Here's the web site. Go check it out. http://groups.msn.com/POINTingMywaytoaNewLife/theoriginalwendieplan.msnw Happy Halloween!!!! Guest guest
Hi , No, you don't have to join. I haven't. Do you have a printer? I have a list of foods that I can send you. Plus there's some good websites that give points of foods including restuarant points. They also tell recipes and all kinds of good stuff. Here's the website of one of my favorites. http://www.healthdiscovery.net/ The earlier website that I sent will tell you your points. If you have trouble I'd be glad to help. Guest guest
Thanks for the info Lizkins. Yes I do have a printer. I need to do something. And maybe this will be it. I eat fairly healthy but still struggle to lose wt. I have no trouble gaining though and if I eat one thing that is not healthy, it is not uncommon for me to pick up 4-5 lbs a day as is what happened to me yesterday. Guest guest
--- Congratulations on winning the fight over travel times - I wish I had tried harder over the years. When starting Trent at day placement and I was travelling him by car, he became a different person, that extra sleep of a morning - no afternoon bus naps - early to bed. As he wasn't as tired, he was understanding and learning more. Then I put him on the secondary school bus with his sister, shorter travel time, independant taxi travel, but bad role models with some of the other students. Another months, and I will be back to driving him daily - be nice to have the best Trent back, but not looking forward to the driving.(We live 1/2 an hours drive away from Geelong). Also great to hear about her invovlment with Brownies, it always amazes we parents have to fight with the adults for our children to be involved, and the kids just accept them for who they are. love Jan mother of Trent 20yo w/DS, Shannen 18, 22, 24 in the UK, the Moth at work the cat in the bean bag and the goat in the paddock In , Tammy123170@a... wrote: > This is a very wonderful morning. Guest guest
Hi Debby! I see Joni has posted a good reply to you. She is right in that you still have time to go with adjustments and getting used to the CI. Think baby steps. It took me 3 months to get my first ahhh, this is nice map! I would just like to ask you if you have auto- sensitivity on all your programs or just one or none at all since you had asked if you should have it taken off? That's up to you if you want it on or off. Auto-sensitivity is a feature that we don't have to have. If you have it on your processor and find that it really does not suit you, can ask your audie to take it off and try a program without auto-sensitivity and see how you like it. My audie gave me auto-sensitivity and I tried it for a few weeks before deciding to have it taken off. I couldn't stand the cutting out of sounds. I'd rather just hear all the noise whether I know what I am hearing or not. Hearing in noise is a challenge for everyone. I find it easier with a sensitivity map rather than a volume map. My advice to you is to keep taking notes on what you like about your programs and what you know you don't like about them and if you know what sounds you are not hearing also make note of that and take those observations to your next mapping. They will help your audie map you better. There are so many ways your processor can be programmed and with each mapping it can be tweaked better by using your observations on how you are doing. Hearing in noise is hard; but with time and more mappings it should get easier for you. Good luck to you! Patti Surgery Day 11/25/02 (What A Day!) Guest guest
Yes for the temp there is a lead wire connected to the remote control which is attached to you via a tube. To me this was dreadfully uncomfortable until on a check up the doctor taped it in place so there was NO weight on it in the hole. When the do the permanent implant after the trail the hole doesn't even require a stitch and heals quickly. -Anne > > > I finally have a date to start a the trial. It's on Wednesday the > 20th. Guest guest
-I already had my 1st trial which was no good because they put the stimulation too far from the source of pain. It simply feels like a tens unit but on the inside. Better yet, you know when you go to physical therapy and they give you electric stim? It feels the same as that but the stimulation(a tingling now comes from the inside.) The trial itself is done under intravenous anesthesia because they need to wake you up after they get the leads in place to make sure they are in the right place. I was a little sore the day after but nothing compared to the pain I experience every day. What was most uncomfortable to me was not being able to bend and not being able to take a shower for a week. Sponge baths only go so far for so long if you know what I mean. If you have any futher questions , shoot . I am scheduled for my 2nd trial on the 19th. Guest guest
Congratulations, -- losing weight and after being on a high dosage of steroids! That is a real accomplishment! I recently lost an extra 30 pounds -- it wasn't all due to LifeLift, but LL was a big part of the equation. I think modifying my eating habits (I have low-carbed for years, but still ate more than my body needed) -- was also a part of my weight loss. And I used Rashelle's marvelous Night Magic wrap gel. I think weight loss is like everything else -- a mixture of all sorts of things! I also think that MS and the steroids you were prescribed are likely making it much more difficult for you than for someone without those problems. I don't know if you can modify your diet in any way (I imagine your diet is careful monitored by your doctor?) -- but I do know that LL can't possibly hurt you in any way, and the more you do, the better you will be. Maybe the Night Magic might help -- I think that the steroids make you " puffy " and perhaps it could help with that??? Rashelle???? P.S. -- My favorite way to cut back on snacking: play the piano! You can't touch any food while you're doing that! Mind you, I'm probably just about as good as your worst student -- but I enjoy playing and find that it can switch a bad mood right around! How wonderful it must be to have a talent with it!!! Good luck! Bonnie finally Well, lifelift family, I usually just sit by and read the posts. Thing about it is, I had a really tough MS exacerbation in March, with high doses of steroids, and gained about 20 lbs of some weight I had lost in the last year. My story here is this. I GOT BACK ON THE BANDWAGON, or in other words, I started marking the days I do the lifelift....trying to get in as many breaths as I can daily....one organized type workout for my waist and buns, and legs, and the rest of the day, as many breaths as I can get going. Guess what....I lost 9 lbs of the weight I had regained. I know I lost inches too, but I wasn't tracking that. Now, I am because My birthday is this summer and I would love to lose more inches and more weight for that wonderful milestone...not a biggie in my eyes, I turn 48, but one of my mantras for this year has become, I WILL BE THIN FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. Now it is one thing to have a mantra and another to do something about it. So I am doing my LL breaths daily, faithfully and recording them, and I am trying to eat right, etc. I am also adjusting to empty nest syndrome and trying to feel like I have a purpose in this world. As I am unable to work, outside of my home, I am teaching some piano, and sewing and just keeping my house as nice as I can. I feel a little lost. It was one thing when the girls were young and me being home was filled with all kinds of things to do. Now, well, anything I do, it has to be mostly for myself. That is a hard adjustment. But, I am important, my girls would not be as successful as they are without all of my hard work in the past years, So some of that hard work is now going to be turned on ME. Questions: I have been grabbing as much as I can on the benefits of Oxygen and deep breathing...reading, reading, reading. I want to lose weight, I have about 50 lbs to lose. CAN I REALLY LOSE WEIGHT DOING LL? I'd like to see someone tell of their success...I need the motivation. I reviewed some success stories on the bodyflex sight, but still, I need as much encouragement as I can get. I want LL stories....and I promise, I am going to become one. Love to all, Folse MS patient, Piano teacher, generally all around wonderful person...... ---------------------------------

Guest guest
I'm glad you have proff now Jen, I know how frustrating it is trying to pinpoint what is causing all the pain and symptoms. Just because you have a neg reading on the RA, does not mean you do not have it , I have learned. I had a good weekend, and now am paying for all the stuff I was so glad I felt like doing. Sometimes I don't know if it is all " coincidence " , and I would of hurt on this day or not. Not only are the joints aching but my muscles too, there are sooo many things that can go along with the arthritis, it is frustrating. Trying to explain it all to the doctor is extremely frustrating to me. Of course the one day and few minutes I was at the Rheumy was not a " bad " day and therefore not easy to explain it all. Im still waiting on reports on all the tests.. As the saying goes,,, Better days ahead ! I spoke with my brother this morning in Ala. and he said that he lost 4 big trees but doesn't know what else yet it is still very windy. His daughter, my niece, in Miss. has a huge hole in her roof, fence gone, trees down etc. but compared to others she is doing well. Thank the Lord! I pray that this is the last hurricane this season! Guest guest
Rose, I don't have a chamber that uses 100% but if I did, knowing what I know, I would do it in a heartbeat. NOBODY is as concerned about his well being as I am!!!! And not because I am afraid of being sued or any other such thing. Thank you, Pat Vosberg
