Guest guest
Rena, Is she getting sufficient vitamin D3 and C? You can't go by the recommended amounts put out by the USDA or is it the FDA. Their amounts are ridiculously low. So low, it is almost criminal. I myself, take 8,000iu of D3 when I do not get enough sun exposure. I also get 5-10 grams(5,000-10,000mg) of Vitamin C per day. Less, if I eat citrus. I haven't had a cold since 1974, when I broke down and got a flu shot. I ended up losing 7 days of work because of that decision. It is always best, if she can eat the vitamins she needs, as well as get that sun exposure. If she is afraid of getting cancer because of sun exposure. Tell her that has never been proven. That the sun exposure actually helps fight cancer instead. She can't use any sun block either. So, like many things in our lives. Moderation is the key to getting enough sun. 15-30 minutes of sun a day on the face and arms, eventually gives you all the D3 you need. The best thing here, it is free! Now, I am not a doctor and don't play one on TV. I also did not stay at a Holiday Inn last night. Any amounts of supplements I take, has been a trial and error thing and it works for me. I also weigh way too much. so if I were around 200 pounds. I might take a fourth less of the amounts mentioned above, with the exception of the sun exposure. I get a bunch of that, when I can. Guest guest
Yes, we made and drank it for some time. In reference to this tonic, I would like to know if it's the same to make it with alcohol (vodka) instead of vinegar. The reason of my question is that after a while the tonic got spoiled. Guest guest
I think the best way to avoid the common cold is to keep your hands away from your face. Mostly your nose and eyes. Guest guest
Well, the next thing she can do, is to just stay away from others. As somene keeps giving her colds. Well, unless she has a cold all the time, where it seems to go away, but doesn't. I'm also wondering if she has an undiagnosed sinus problem? One that drips into the throat, irritating it and then maybe going into the lungs. Does she cough a lot, from other reasons. I know there is at least one high blood pressure med, that makes me cough. I tend to get a sore throat from that. Why I ask the doc to change it off, every now and then. Gargling with warm water while in the shower, can also help. Rehydrates the throat. Especially when the humidity is very low. Yes, I know you said Florida. Thing is, I used to get a very dry throat in the winter, in SW Florida. Worked outside, most every day. Guest guest
The single best thing your mother could do to optimize her health is to normalize her gut flora! The 'bad' bacteria have clearly taken over and are thriving in her body. An EXCELLENT book on the subject is 'Bacteria for Breakfast' by Dowhower Karpa. She saved her toddler from death (of c. diff) with probiotics and prebiotics, and developed Florajen (the probiotic) and FOS (the prebiotic) as a result. Please check with your pharmacy or health food store for these items ~ there really isn't anyone whose health wouldn't benefit from taking them faithfully! The Florajen, which needs to be kept refrigerated, contains live cultures like those in yogurt, but is far more potent - one capsule is equivalent to 10 cups of yogurt. The FOS (fructooligosaccharides) is the 'good' sugar that feeds the 'good' bacteria, as opposed to the 'bad' sugars so common in the American diet that feed the 'bad' bacteria that are responsible for a staggering array of human (and animal!) ills. Good luck to your mom! --- In health , " carus_lupus " <carus_lupus@...> wrote: > > hello, > > My mother is getting colds frequently. Guest guest
I always like to get my carts from outdoors because the ultraviolet light kills off all the germs on the carts. At home I use steam for cleaning, mostly because I'm allergic to so many chemicals. I steam my floors even refreshing my carpeting by using vinegar in my floor steamer and the glide attachment that goes on the bottom to do this on rugs. Vinegar also kills stuff and makes things smell better after the vinegar smell fades. Also vinegar is safe and doesn't create super bacteria. ~Katy Sheep to the right; His Lamb “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength" Isa 30:15 http://www.orchardhouseheirlooms.net/ survival seeds Christian-homesteaders/ biblical survival -- Re: Frequent colds Yes, I agree also and I prevent my mother about it because she thought it was good to disinfect the cart handle in the super market.
