Guest guest
The TENs units work by generating an electric signal that seems to interfere with the normal pain signal going through the body's nervous system. Exactly why this occurs is not known – it may jam the normal pain signal or induce the brain to generate pain inhibiting endorphins. After the signal is removed the affect can, in some cases, last for several hours or the pain can return almost immediately. It does not do anything to alleviate the underlying cause of the pain, so the pain will return after the device is deactivated. The implantable devices utilizes the same principle. Since they are inside the body, the signal levels are a lot lower and they deliver their signal continuously for many years without being replaced. Does anyone have experience in using/buying a portable/home use system. The LG Medical ones look nice, but there are a lot of bad reviews of the company. Any input would be appreciated. > Thank you! > >
