Guest guest
Christie, Wow- so great to hear that Mya is doing beautifully with the tort and the plagio. Keep up the great work- and keep an eye on the tort as well- you really want to watch that posture until 2 years old (uggggg, I know- we still do and is almost 1 1/2!). It is so true about the helmet and the bumps and bruises missed because of it! I kind of wished I could have kept it for his learning how to walk stage! Good luck and please keep us posted with that graduation date!!!! ' Mom
Guest guest
Hi! Yes it has been 3 months already! I cant believe how quickly it has went for us. She is improving so much. I can barely tell she has the tort. I can still see a bit but I think I am the only one that notices that. As for her plagio it is looking soooo much better. She still has a bit to go but her ears have already shifted alot. ANd Cranial tech told me that if she keep growing and improving at the rate shes going she probably wont need a second band. But if she slows down or her ears stop shifting to where they are supposed to then she will need a second one. But I am praying that everything will keep up and she wont need a second one and she will be able to enjoy the second half of the summer. Because right now I cant hardly take her outside. Its like 90- 100 degrees and the poor things just sweats and sweats and then thats the only time she gets irritated with the band and starts pulling on it because she can feel the sweat running down her head. We were lucky this past weekend on saturday it was sooo nice and cool and breezy it hasnt been like that in such a while. SO we went out to a lake and my husband fished and the other 2 kids played and Mya just loved being outdoors and not sweating. It was so nice. But anyway Im so excited to see that she is improving so well. But I cant wait for this to be over. ALthough Im sure Mya will have to adjust because right now she thinks her head cant get hurt. She bangs her head on things and laughs cause it dont hurt and she just thinks its funny. But when she has it off and does that she gets soo mad and just yells and yells. So she will have to realize normal people cant just go and bang there head on walls, floors, toys, other peoples heads etc. Without getting hurt. hahha christi mom to MYa (DOC Band 3/6/02) > In a message dated 6/11/2002 11:24:07 AM Eastern Daylight Time, > cmz1242@y... writes: > > > > And now we are 3 months into it and seeing such great > > improvement its all worth it! > > Christi, > WOW- has it really been that long already!!!!???? Guest guest
Christi: LOL about Mya running into people, walls, etc.! That's typical. I worried about Abby being out of her band too, but after a week or so she realized how bad it hurts to hit the table with her bare head and quickly stopped . I'm so happy you've seen such great results with both her tort & plagio.. I'll keep my fingers crossed that she keeps growing to prevent the need for a 2nd band. I was very happy that Abby wore her bands from Nov-June, so we never had to deal with the really hot weather. I'm sure Mya hates being in the heat with it on her head. It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend . Nice & relaxing. Thanks for the great update - how bout her potty in the tub? Good update there too I hope? Guest guest
Debbie Yeah Im sure she will realize it hurts to bang your head when its not covered by a band. Just hope she dont hurt her head to bad while shes figuring it out. Oh that wouldve been nice for Mya to have worn the band in the colder months but oh well Im just glad we got her in a band. She will be one year old soon so Im glad shes had so much improvement cause I was worried about her not getting into her band till she was 8 1/2 months. But I guess a lot of people have seen improvement well after the 1 year mark so that is good. As far as the potty in the tub. Shes still doing it about once or twice a week. But I guess 2 out of 7 isnt bad considering she was doing it every single day. Just this past saturday she pooped 3 times in a row I was sooo frustrated with her. She pooped I pulled her out sat her on the toilet to see if she had to finish and she did a little so I thought she was done. I cleaned the tub and filled it. I did this 3 times. After the 3rd time I didnt even bother to fill the tub I lathered her up and then squirted her with the shower hose and got her out. She thought that was hilarious being squirted with the hose but I was in no laughing mood by that point. My husband was in hysterics though!! I know it will pass and she will one day just no longer do it but i am WAITING and WAITING for that day to come and its not coming. Funny to laugh now cause im not in the moment but Jeesh when Im cleaning that tub and shes just sitting there laughing I am so frustrated hahaha.
