Very tough decision for you to make :(. I would suggest asking for

the patient's pictures & success stories from this particular

orthotist. Go in & thoroughly interview him, make sure he knows his

stuff. Then go from there. As you probably know, Abby's STARband

did not work for her as her orthotist wasn't very experienced. That's

why I encourage all parents to thoroughly interview would be

orthotists. It is SO important!

Did anyone call you back w/any other names in your area?

Hi Debbie,

I definitely feel better knowing that she will be getting the best

care available. And yes I think the orthotist was great. Hopefully

I

won't EVER have to take all 5 kids with me to NJ! I don't think

I'd

survive that. lol I could probably bribe my almost 14yo to watch

my

5yo and my 3yo (but not my 8yo) with money! Nah, she knows how

important this is for , I'm sure she'll help out. Any idea

how

long it takes to get a casting appointment? Now I just hope I don't

have a fight on my hands getting my pedy to write me the script.

Thanks,

Hi . That would be nice if we bump into eachother at CT! I'll keep you

posted as to when our apts are. We are getting the band a week from Wed.

We travel about an hour and a half to get to Paramus. We live in the

Flemington area of NJ so I know what you mean about traveling. We are

lucky that loves the car and sleeps alot of the time while traveling.

I'm sure it is much more challenging with a couple of kids!

Hi ann,

Yes it would be great to run into eachother at CT!! I'll let you know

too, when my appts. are. Please post how does the first few

days with his DOC band. I don't know how long it takes me to get

there yet, I got so lost going there! I must of drove a good 45

minutes to an hour out of my way! I even got lost going home. Really

lost, I saw a Connecticut train! I left my house at noon and didn't

get home until 8 pm. Next time I'm bringing a map. lol
