Guest guest
I personally love Oxiclean for all stains. I have not tried it on carpeting (obviously because hasn't figured out how to take his diaper off and decorate yet)but it sure works great for getting stains out of everything else and it says you can use it for carpet. I would mix up a solution and try blotting first before you rub to try and draw some of the stain up into your cleaning cloths. Guest guest
Oh No Niki!!! I have the perfect solution for you.............................I'm booking Abby a flight to Philly tomorrow, along with a gallon of clorox bleach to poor over the poop stain - that'll definitely take care of it!!!!!!!! Remember, Abby is VERY experienced in bleaching NEW carpet! LOL - Oh I crack myself up!!! Anyhoo, I like the steam cleaner idea. & I bought a new Dirt Devil steam cleaner for Christmas & I've used it several times for emergencies & it does wonders. If you don't want to buy one, you can always usually rent one from a store for the day for like $30.00 or so. My now 5 yr old niece used to take her dirty diaper off while in her crib when she was 2 & seriously would smeer the poop all over the walls. Finally after a week straight of that, my sister always put her to nap or bedtime with sleeper pj's on with a diaper pin at the crotch area to keep the sleeper on to prevent her from getting the diaper off. I feel for ya.....expect Abby in Philly around noonish.....she'll be the one with the bleach hehe...still laughing at myself....again, proof I need to get out more often. Guest guest
I just wanted to thank everybody who responded to my rather stinky crisis yesterday! I told my hubby after experiencing that, we are definitely getting a steam cleaner. Our little hand held Bissel is not heavy duty enough for these little terrors. As much as I hate to give credit to the prhase, they really are becomming Double Trouble (good luck Gail!) Anyway, right after I sent my post my hysterically laughing mom called with her solution. Mix one teaspoon detergent with one cup of lukewarm water, and blot the area. Then mix one tablespoon ammonia with half a cup of water, and blot. Repeat the detergent process. Then mix one third cup of white vinegar with two thirds cup of water and blot again. And then rinse it all with plain water. It sounds like a lot of work, and it was, but it REALLY worked! There is one area that I have to retry, where it was really ground into the rug. But all of the little footprints are gone, and so is the smell!! Whew! Thanks again everyone!!! Guest guest
Niki, Mom to the rescue!!! I'm printing the solution so in case I ever have to deal with it I will be prepared. I'm glad you were able to get everything clean before Abby arrived with her bleach!!!! LOL! Marci
