Hi Kair,

Welcome to the group! Have you tried putting him on the bed while your on the floor looking up at him- seemed to tolerate this better. Even a mirror helps so that they can check themselves out! Great to hear that the excercises are already helping! Good luck with everything and let us know when your starting the helmet process!

Hello

Sorry about not providing more info. My son is 4 months old and has

been diagnosed with posterior plagiocephaly and slight torticollis.

My husband and I have been doing the next exercises for the past

month so his neck has gotten better, but the doctor recommends we

get him into a helmut right away. The only problem is that are

insurance is very vague on what they cover. The people I speak to at

the company do not seem to know what they are talking about and keep

giving me inaccurate information. I admit I haven't been forcing the

tummy time as much as I should but he freaks out when I put him on

his stomach. Last night I bought a bunch of foam to try with tummy

time. Hopefully that will help.

I would appreciate any information boston area members can provide me.

thanks

Kair-

I would suggest calling your insurance agent who sold you the policy

(or sold the company the policy). Ours was great in calling their

contacts to figure out exactly what is covered. That way you are

actually talking with someone who knows what they are talking about.

If that doesn't work, contact the HR or Personnel Dept where you or

your husband work (if you get the policy through work). They can be

a big help in decifering what is actually covered.

Hi Kair,

I agree with about contacting your HR department if the insurance is

through work or your agent if you bought it as an individual policy. They

should be able to help you communicate with your insurance company.

Good to hear that the neck exercises are helping out. The tummy time will

help too, but I know what you mean about the baby not liking it - did

not like tummy time. Of course, the more you do it, the more used to it the

baby becomes!
