Guest guest
Holly, My opinion is that if it is going to be hot then definitely let that be the one hour off. If heat is not a major issue then I still think it is totally up to you. If you would just rather simplify life then leave it at home for the hour. Or maybe you could keep it off for the parade and on for the picnic (or vice versa). I think it is totally up to you and want you are feeling up to! Regarding the removable stickers - pretty much all of the stickers I encountered stuck on pretty darn good. I bought a product called " Goo Gone " at s and it got the stickers off pretty easily. (You can get it at most hobby stores) Best wishes and let us know what you decide to do. Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
Guest guest
Hey Holly thanks for the update I am so glad things are going well. The band will tighten up as you hit growth spurts and the area above the eye will take care of itself-we had the same problem with but after a few growth spurts it was fine-just frustrating in the beginning. I am so glad youa re seeing improvement though and that things are going so well otherwise. Anyhow- your debate isn't silly I think do what you are comfortable with- I don't think it will be a problem if is out of his band for an hour or a little longer for a holiday celebration if you would like to enjoy your self and forget about plagio for a few hours you certainly are entitled to that- it is obvious you wont be making a habit of removing it for every social event or outing so this one time really isn't a big deal. also it may be quite hot that day and if he is being met by family for the first time then he is going to beheld and passed around a lot I am sure which makes a kid hotter and crankier so I say don't worry about it snuggle the head and then keep the helmet in the car if anyone asks you can show it to them and educate at that point otherwise-enjoy yourself. As far as stickers we used the clear backed stickers on 's doc they peeled on and off very easy with no messy clean up they were great and they stayed on great too but I also redecorated every week, Have a great time and take pictures of that little cutie in his cutie patootie outfit and share them with us:-) beck Mom to doc grad Memphis
Guest guest
i say wear that band and stand proud!! but its up to you brenda mom of tucker Silly 4th of July DOC-Band dilemma, but what would you do? OK, this is a bit silly, but we are going to a picnic on July 4th that is preceded by a bike/stroller parade. All the parents and kids decorate their bikes/strollers with streamers and American flags. I bought a cute patriotic outfit for (5 1/2 mos.), and his 2 year old cousin has a matching outfit, too. Here's my dumb little dilemma: Do I let the parade and picnic be his 1 hour out of the DOC-Band that day? We will be seeing relatives and friends who haven't met , and it would certainly cut down on the questions, not to mention give us better photo ops. On the other hand, I don't want to seem like I'm hiding anything, and I certainly don't have any problem taking out in public with his DOC-Band. (He goes to daycare during the week anyway.) Also, this could be an opportunity to educate folks about plagio. What would you do (cute outfit and decorated stroller with no band and band-less photos vs. wear the band proudly?). For those who suggest wearing the band, do you know of stickers that are removable? I always thought that kids' stickers were permanent for safety reasons (but I haven't looked at a craft store, either). TIA--Holly & For more plagio info
