Guest guest
To all repositioners - How do you get your baby to stay " propped " at night? Paige is 3 months now and the first few nights were fine, but now the rolled towel under her right side isn't doing much good because she wiggles and squirms around. Are there any other techniques that are more useful? TIA, Kate Ontario, Canada
Guest guest
Hi Kate, I'm using a sleeping positioner thing I bought at Babies R' Us. I've side-slept Abby with it since she was born, so she's used to sleeping on her side. She doesn't move at all during the night. I wonder if that's why she doesn't wake up? She's slept through the night since she was 5 weeks old! Anyway, it was less than $15. But, if you want to keep Paige on her back for sleep, our doctor said to do this: roll up a cloth diaper/towel, put it INside her onsie (through the shoulder and out the leg) where you want it positioned and then babypin it into place. He said that the thicker the towel, the harder it will be for her to move. Good luck. We're repositioning Abby (also 3 months), too. I hope this works for our gals. I've got an evaluation with CT next week to get the ball rolling just in case. Take care, Christy NY
Guest guest
Kate: I also used the " side sleeper " with my Abby - it was helpful for the first few wks, but then she wiggled out of it as well. It's sold at Target, Walmart most stores. Like Christy replied, it was only about $15.00. I hope you'll get some other helpful hints. Good luck! Guest guest
Christy and Debbie, Thanks for the tip on the " side sleeper " . We picked one up yesterday and it worked fabulously for her naps. Last night was a different story though! She wiggled so much she kept popping off the velcro bolster that kept her from rolling on her tummy! All night long all I heard was " Riiiiiiip " , " Riiiiiip " . I thought it was pretty funny, DH didn't as he has to get up for work! I'm trying to figure out if I can sew the bolster on or not, or if I should go back to the drawing board. Thanks again for suggesting the side sleeper though, her naps during the day were a breeze. She didn't mind sleeping on her side at all. Kate

Guest guest
Kate, We used a wedge that made him stay on his side, held by a triangle piece velcroed to it- it would work sometimes, and other times he figured out how to wiggle out of it! Good luck! ' Mom
Guest guest
Hi Kate, Sleep positioners might help you, either side sleep positioner or back sleep positioner that have a wedge that help you place the head on the right side. still slept in his at 3 months old, but it really depend on the baby. Other parents have place the rolled up blanket under the sheets so it woudn't move as much, some have sewed a filled up tube socking on the back of a onesie on the side where you don't want baby to lay on, others have use a tennis ball similarly. Some parents have put a wedge under the mattress to help reposition. For naps, some parents have the baby sleeping on their tummy in their arms while they themselves were laying down on their back, or couse also for nap, sleeping in a front pouch is great! I also heard of parent who use a rice sock as a positioning device to support them and prevent baby to roll on his back or side you don't want to.
