Guest guest
Hey Kristi there are some states that PT's are licensed to write prescriptions although I am not sure that Ohio is one of them I am almost positive that your DR whether it be the ped or the neuro has to write one for you. Try this link to see if you can find a DR-if not call CT they certainly can tell you who they work with and you can make an appointment with them. best of luck! Guest guest
Kristi, Have you seen a specialist? If not, you could do a couple of things: 1. Ask your ped to write the rx (no a PT can't do this...an MD must) upon ruling out cranio (may order x-ray or ct scan) 2. Ask CT to refer you to a specialist they have worked with...they'll be able to tell you band friendly specialists in the area...the specialist will rule out cranio and follow your son's progress. We had our ped write the rx and our ped is following our care, before he wrote the rx he ordered x-rays. I just couldn't get into a specialist quickly and my son was almost 9 months...I did take him for another opinion at the specialist after we got the ball rolling w/ CT (it ended up I got him to see a specialist 1 day before his casting as we had to do the x-ray, etc. before getting started...but, had I waited to see the specialist to start ANY of this Grant would have been 10 mos. before starting). The specialist concurred that the xrays looked good and we were following the correct course of treatment. Hope this helps! , Mom to Grant (born 9/26/01) ...in DOCband since 6/14/
Guest guest
Kristi, After the CT eval you need to get an RX from either your ped or a specialist. Either one can do although some peds will not. The PT will not be able to write the RX. Sorry, I'm not from OH, but hopefully you will get some info from someone who is.
