Guest guest
Amy, Great news!!!! That is so wonderful that your helping spread the word about plagio- good for you! Good for everyone! I think the specialist actually sounds ok, since he is of the belief that Doctors need to talk to their patients more about repositioning- but as you know- its so much more complex than that sometimes!! I think it will still do a world of good! Way to go Mom! ' Mom
Guest guest
hi everyone. i just wanted to let you know that the news story with my daughter emma is supposed to air tonight in the Raleigh, NC area on WRAL tv on the 5:00 news. i'm a little anxious about it, not only because i wish i had been more articulate, but also because they interviewed a doctor at Duke who is not a fan of banding. here's the message i got from the producer: " I wanted to let you know that the story with you and Emma will air Monday at five. We interviewed a cranial surgeon at Duke. His stand is that in most cases it will reshape itself if caught early-- during the first year when there's a lot of growth and the scull is still soft. He's not a big fan of the bands but since our story is more on the need for parents to know about repositioning that isn't a big deal. I'm not going to pit your opinion against his. But he is concerned about the number of referrals he's getting from pediatricians and says doctors really need to talk with parents about the importance of repositioning and what to do if they start to notice any type of flattening early on. I know that's the message you're wanting to spread too so I think you'll like the story! Thanks again for your help! " so, it will be interesting to see how the story goes... at least it will raise awareness and hopefully some parents will learn something about repositioning. i just wish the message that there is an effective treatment available and NOT to wait until 12 months of age would get out there as well. WRAL should post something on their website about a day afterwards, and i will let you know the url. anxious amy mom to emma (DOC band 5/6/02)

Guest guest
Amy, I'm sure you did great. Hopefully the right impression will be given. Just letting new moms hear about repositioning will be helpful. Let us know how it goes! Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
