Hello Everyone!

I'm formulating for 2006 and am in need of creating a deep, natural

Mango Fragrance. I don't wany to use a mango fragrance oil in my

product if at all possible.

Anya, do you sell a formulation book or could you recommend one that

tells how to create various fruit fragrances? Any help you all can

extend my way would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Tammy:

Search back through the archives -- there are many we recommend for a

fruity note, and you can cobble together your own unique fruit scent from

the posts. For the mango, do you want to make an alcohol or oil?

I've made a great mango alcohol by tincturing fresh, ripe mango about five

times. Got to saturate the alcohol. Then, little bits of clementine and

other fruity citrus notes, not sharp ones, can add depth and sweetnesst.

Oh, I also sometimes mix some peach tincture in with it.

You have to realize true mango season won't be here until July or so. You

may, if you live near a gourmet market in a big city, get some of the

Southern Hemisphere mangos at a high price, and carefully ripen them. Good

luck!

Hi Tammy,

Maybe this link is interesting to read

http://www.newyorker.com/fact/content/index.ssf?050314fa_fact

This article is about the making of the fragrance " Scent of the

Nile " from Weil. This perfume is build around the scent of Mango. Here

they use also synthetics but also natural oils like carrotseed oil. So

Mango must have some kind of carrot smell in it.
