Guest guest
Hello everyone. My name is Ailette and I am new to this group. Here is my story My GF is a candlemaker. She recently discovered the wonders of making all soy / natural based candles. All the fragrances she has been getting have been driving me crazy (in a good way) although I will admit a few have actually been quite repulsive. So wanting to be a good and supportive partner I have begun to help her with her art of candlemaking. I must admit it is very exciting. Measuring, weighing, testing, burning, testing, etc, etc. In doing research I discovered that I could make colognes, perfumes and linen sprays with many of the scents she is using for candlemaking. So then enters my interest, Perfumery. I have always wondered how they were made, bottled, etc. Since I was a baby my mother would splash Agua De Violetas (Violet Water) all over me. I grew up to be a person who always had to smell good and who has invested 1,000's in the purchase of fragrances. So here I am, excited, interested, and ready to try my hand at something I think I will truly enjoy. I have so many questions but I promise to try and find some of the answers on my own through reading and research. My 1st question is: Cyclo, Perfumers SD40 Alcohol Blend or Grain Alcohol? I have read so many different opinions and I am still confused. I have already mixed 7 different FO's with Cyclo and some mixed/blended instantly and very well, while others will not blend at all and must be shaken before sprayed. I have heard that fractionated Coconut Oil will assist with this but no one tells you how. Would it be better to not use Cycle at all? What to do? 2nd question is: Does anyone know where I can find the FO for DK Fuel or DK Unleaded for Men. This was my favorite cologne for several years and was discontinued. I was literally sad when I realized I would never be able to purchase it again and have even spent up to $150 a bottle when I have found it on the net If not, can anyone help with figuring out the essences used to create this scent. I have a few of them which i have managed to get from research , however I do not know if my list is incomplete. Sorry for the SUPER Long post ! Im Cuban and just as we talk too much, we also write too much. Bright Blessings to ALL.
