Kerri,

My Sofia is no where crawling either. SHe is 7 1/2 months old and still does not

like to be on her stomach. Our doctor said that due to the sleeping on the back

campaign, she has seen later crawlers in her practice. Also, due to Sofia's

tort, i am sure her neck muscles are still developing for the crawling stage. But

she sits up beautifully and we are taking her development a day at a time and at

her pace.

Subject: Can Plagio/Tort affect crawling?

My daughter will be 7 months old at the end of this month. She doesn't crawl

yet. I was doing some reading about how head and neck strength are keys to

learning how. That got me wondering if the problems with her head and neck

are delaying her learning to crawl.

Do any of you have late crawlers? Any doctors ever mention this possibility

as a " side effect " ?

Thanks,

Kerri ('s Mommy, Chicago)

Hi My daughter Mya also was a very late crawler. She was late on

everything and I always wondered if the plagio /tort had anything to

do with it. She didnt roll over till 6 1/2 months didnt sit up till

almost 9 months and didnt crawl till almost 11 months. She is now

almost 1 year old and no where near walking. She was born 4 weeks

premature but I dont see how that 4 week prematurity could have made

her this far behind. So Im assuming maybe the plagio /tort played a

part in it. I have some papers showing how to practice crawling with

your baby if youd like me to mail them to you let me know

Christi mom to MYa
