Your story sounds just like mine. I worked my @ss off on my appeals. I had

two regular appeal levels and for the third I appeared in person. Like you I

thought I did a great job - I even had one of the guys there asking me for

more info because he was concerned about his baby! I lost - they stuck with

their not medically necessary excuse. My case then went to an external review

board and was overturned. Does your insurance co offer this option? You might

want to do this before going to the DOI. If they don't then the DOI is a very

good option. I used to be the complaint coordinator for a company that paid

insurance claims for a number of insurance companies. DOI complaints always

got excellent attention.
