Preferred Health Systems - appeal or payment anyone??

I was wondering if anyone has had their child's helmet paid for by

Preferred Health Systems - PPO plan (or HMO Plan)? They denied

treatment. Or any stories of appeals - anything!

Hi ,

Well you will find tons of stories about appeals here!!! We did not have

Preferred Health Systems, but we were denied by our insurance co and went

through the entire appeals process (three levels including a face to face

board review) with no luck. The denial held through it all. After the final

denial we chose to have our case sent to an external review board. They

overturned the decision and the claim was paid. The approval and payment came

AFTER was completely finished with her treatment!

Hopefully someone here has had experience with your insurance co. Best of

I don't remember seeing a post from you before, so I'd like to

welcome you! I see you've been a member for a couple mos already.

Could you please tell us more about child's helmet....is it a

STARband, DOCband or locally made helmet? How is your child doing in

the helmet? How old, etc...I know, 20 questions!

I just searched this year's archive looking if anyone else has

mentioned Preferred Health Systems, but not one post came up

On what grounds are they denying coverage? Have you been to
