Hi there! We've been climbing up the ladder of doctors. We finally

went to a craniofacial team today. We got the " good news " (really)

that our daughters facial asymmetry is because of plagiocephaly &

torticollis. We had been told previously that it was because of a

birth defect & possible craniosynostosis. So after sleepless nights,

many many tears, x-rays, CT scans, and more prayers than ever, there

is some hope :) Abby will be 3 months old tomorrow. The doc is having

us try repositioning for 3 months for the plagio, and PT for the

tort.

Her ear on the tort side lays way back, her jaw is narrower and the

cheek is much thinner than the other side. Did anyone else go through

this with their child? Just curious to know what your experience has

been and how things are progressing.

Thanks,

Christy & Abby

Hi Christy and Abby and welcome!

I'm so glad that your specialists have ruled out cranio - what a relief! At 3

months repositioning should be quite effective. Have you checked out

www.plagiocephaly.org/support yet? It has a link for good repositioning tips.

Also I think Beck just put up a post with all sorts of repositioning links on

it. Will Abby be receiving PT for the tort? That will also help with the

plagio as it will make the repositioning much easier.

Keep us posted! We are always eager to hear of successful repositioning!
