omg what a great bday gift for me..my bday is the 20th

here is our story..sorry if so long..

our problems started at around 30 wks of pregnancy..i was only measuring at about 23 wks..thus the iugr flag went up..sure enought...tuckers head was bigger than his body..we found this out throuhg numerouse ultrasounds...tucker was born at 41 weeks..he was 6lbs 7 oz and 19 in long..( don't remember the head circum..) he was delivered with forceps..we noticed the funny shape of his head right away but were told it was due to the forceps..well at his 2 month checkup it was worse but the ped said that it would round out when he started crawling or rolling or whatever..but to try tummy time (tucker hated that) and switching ends of the crib..that didn't work either..tucker would keep his head to the left..at 4 months we heard the same thing..tucker was just rolling over and so we thought we would give it a little more time..finally at the 6 month checkup i had had enought and got the ped to give a referal to a specialist..we couldnt get there for another 2 months..at the appt tucker was dx with severe positional plagiocephaly but with no tort...and right away we were sent to the st mary hospital for casting..that started our insurance problem cause we didn't get a pre-auth..he recieved the doc band..tucker was banded 8-23-01 and graduated 3-6-02..he was in it for 6 months and only had one band..he had a 75-80 correction..he has been a little slow at stuff (motor skills) but the dr said its just him..not b/c of the plagio..tucker rolled at about 4, crawled at about 7-8 sat at about 9-10..stood at 12 and walked at 17...he has been a great kid through all of this and still likes to play with the doc band...we are now battling insurance and have a free atourny..(income guidliness) i still think sometimes it was my fault and cry about it but have come to realize that these things happen alot..and not because of neglect or bad parenting..i would do this all over again if need be but would push for the band alot sooner...i will send some pics of tucker along with this post and if anyone has any ? about anything or if i missed something please let me know..

thank you for giving me a great bday gift

enought...tuckers head was bigger than his body..we found this out

throuhg numerouse ultrasounds...tucker was born at 41 weeks..he was

6lbs 7 oz and 19 in long..( don't remember the head circum..) he was

delivered with forceps..we noticed the funny shape of his head right

away but were told it was due to the forceps..well at his 2 month

checkup it was worse but the ped said that it would round out when he

started crawling or rolling or whatever..but to try tummy time

(tucker hated that) and switching ends of the crib..that didn't work

either..tucker would keep his head to the left..at 4 months we heard

the same thing..tucker was just rolling over and so we thought we

would give it a little more time..finally at the 6 month checkup i

had had enought and got the ped to give a referal to a specialist..we

couldnt get there for another 2 months..at the appt tucker was dx

with severe positional plagiocephaly but with no tort...and right

away we were sent to the st mary hospital for casting..that started

our insurance problem cause we didn't get a pre-auth..he recieved the

doc band..tucker was banded 8-23-01 and graduated 3-6-02..he was in

it for 6 months and only had one band..he had a 75-80 correction..he

has been a little slow at stuff (motor skills) but the dr said its

just him..not b/c of the plagio..tucker rolled at about 4, crawled at

about 7-8 sat at about 9-10..stood at 12 and walked at 17...he has

been a great kid through all of this and still likes to play with the

doc band...we are now battling insurance and have a free atourny..

(income guidliness) i still think sometimes it was my fault and cry

about it but have come to realize that these things happen alot..and

not because of neglect or bad parenting..i would do this all over

again if need be but would push for the band alot sooner...i will

send some pics of tucker along with this post and if anyone has any ?

,

Thanks for sharing your story. You are a wonderful mommy who followed her

instinct and pushed to have the proper care given to Tucker. It sounds like he

is doing very well and he is just adorable! Thanks for sharing the pictures! I

can't believe how big he looks now compared to his front page picture!
