Guest guest
Hello Can anyone offer any advice or tell me what should I expect regarding the casting appointment? My son () is suppose to go this thursday (if I hear back from my insurance company by then). Even if I don't hear from the insurance I am tempted to do it anyways, I am anxious to start the process and I hate this waiting. I saw the pictures someone posted awhile back. Any advice on how I should mentally prepare and prepare him? Will I have a few fussy days afterwards? Normally how long does it take to get the helmet after casting? Thanks for your advice, I sure have learned a lot from all of you over the past few weeks. -Kair
Guest guest
Hi Kair, The casting process is typically not very pleasant, but very quick. Take someone along is you can to help. One person to hold, one person to provide the entertainment. Bring a binkie and/or a bottle or maybe a stuffed toy or blanket. We also brought some toys that made noise and music. Anything to distract. cried a little at the very end, but after the casting was off she is completely over it and that was that. We did not notice any residual effects beyond the actual casting. If you can get a copy of the insurance denial (if you are being denied) it would be a good idea. Sometimes the insurance companies find a way not to pay if you do not go through the appropriate channels. Best wishes and let us know how it goes.
