This means that you must use a Vytra approved vendor. So, it is possible that

Cranial Technologies is NOT a Vytra approved vendor (of course, there is also

a chance that they ARE an approved vendor) There may be a STARband maker who

is a Vytra approved vendor. If that were the case then you would have to use

the approved vendor if you want coverage (of at least full coverage). If

there are no Vytra approved helmet/band makers in your area then your

insurance company could possibly authorize CT as an approved vendor in your

case. You might check out your physician's directory to see if there are any

orthotists listed in there. CT will be able to tell you for sure if they are

or are not an approved vendor.

Best wishes and let us know if we can help in any other way!

Hi Marci,

Thank you for your reply! In my ins book it says and I quote " Durable

medical equipment (nebulizers, wheelchairs, glucose monitor, etc) can be

obtained with a perscription from a doctor or a specialist. To place

orders your doctor MUST contact a Vytra vendor. "

I have no idea what that means! Any idea? I called Vytra today and

asked them if they would cover a cranial orthotic and they didn't

have a clue as to what it even was! She told me to have my pedy call.

I'm sure my pedy isn't going to know what it is either! Im just going

to wait and see what happens at CT tomorrow and then take it from

there.

Thanks,

I would suggest contacting your insurance agent who sold you or

your company/dh's company the policy. Ours was a great help with

deciphering everything and getting our appeals in order.

As far as the vendor thing, that is probably requiring you to go to

a certain company that is approved by Vyrta. You know how they will

only pay for you to go to certian hospitals, it can be the same

thing with DME. We had to get Dane's apnea monitor from a company

that was UHC plan approved. If you have a book with all the

dr./therpapists/dme places that would probably refer to the right

place.
