Guest guest
Well, We drove three hours to Cleveland with construction almost the entire way. Couldn't drop the four year old off at her aunt's house because the construction put us so far behind schedule. The consult went o.k. ' measurements put him in a mild-moderate range which is better than we had feared but puts him in a grey area. They are neither recommmending the band nor not recommending it. So here we are trying to figure out if we should spend the $3000. Even CT is saying it isn't all that bad. And after seeing some of the head molds at this clinic, I am feeling guilty about complaining and making such a ruckous (??) over the whole thing. If we do decide to go ahead with it, we have to find a pediatrician who will write the sript, and if we want the insurance to pay any of it, the same physician will have to write a letter of medical neccesity, which doesn't seem likely. We have decided that we want to do it because we feel it won't harm him now, and this way we can be sure it won't bother him later. I just wish (and I know this sounds terrible) that it was worse and I was being told, " Yes, you absolutely should do this. " Then I am thinking, I am going to have to make this three hour (one way) journey once a week and by myself since dh is studying for the BAR exam at the moment. For just a minor flat spot - is it really worth it? Are we certain it won't round out on its own? I was just talking with a neighbor about it and she said her daughter was very flat in the back - much worse than and it rounded out nicely - not perfect - but much better than it was without any intervention other that staying off the back of her head during the day. Of course, started sitting up around 4 months and spent a lot of time in the jhonny jump-up and the exersaucer during the day and his hasn't changed a bit. Ok. I am definitely rambling - sorry to be so long winded. Any advice would be welcome! Kristi ' mom OH
