Guest guest
Boy oh boy, what a day. As I anticipated, didn't do well initially with his new DOC band. But to my surprise, after about a half hour, he was sleeping in the car on our way to lunch! He moaned from when we left the office and got into the car. He cried and squirmed when I put him in the car seat but as soon as we drove off, he was off in la la land! When we returned to the office, I nursed him and he did well in his band during the nursing. When he was done and his little tummy full, he was back to his old self, babbling away. He did much better than my husband. He is really having a difficult time with this, dispite me reminding him how happy we will be that we did this when it is all over. I, too, feel bad, but as soon as I feel the tears welling up, I picture my son with a more normal shapped head and the tears go away. He had the band on all the way home. I removed the band after 4 hours and here were 2 red spots. One went away within the hour and the other was still there when I put him to bed. It faded to a light pink but I was afraid to put it on over night. I'll have to call CT tomorrow. Unfortunately, our OT will not be there - she went to another office and won't be back until Monday. I'm thinking to put the band back on tomorrow morning and checking it again after 3 hours. Depending on what CT says, I may have to leave it off until Monday. Well, our anticipated ordeal didn't turn out so bad. Now the real hurdle is getting him to sleep in it. ann/ NJ
