Guest guest
It depends on what each specialist says and does. Need more information. Guest guest
You want a Dr who has seen and cared for at least 5 years a number of cases of PA. This may be an internist with a speical interest in HTN like me, or an Endo, or an Nephro or a Cardio. Best guide would be to see if they are Board Certified in Hypertension by the Am Society of HTN. Also ask how many pts with PA they have treated in last 5 years. If few to none then we can train them to get up to snuff if you like then otherwise and they are interested. We need to build a file of FAQs I think as this comes up fairly often. Maybe each person could submit their own list of what would be in a FAQ file. Is there anyway to make more interactive so folks dont have to search the files to find answers? On Jun 27, 2008, at 5:05 PM, Valarie wrote: > It depends on what each specialist says and does. Guest guest
I recommend one Board Certified by the Am Soc of HTN. you can see a list at their web site to search your area. Let me know where you live and I may know someone there. Guest guest
I started a Q & A to be put in the files when we get more questions and answers. I don't know any way to make more interactive. However, although I will be putting a Q & A in the files, anyone can download it, change it and then upload the changed version (after deleting the original). That way, at least if I disappear, what I've left can be built upon in the future. Guest guest
thank you, Dr Grim...I found the name of several hypertension specialists on-line...none in the Des Moines area but elsewhere not too far away. Is there a specialist in Iowa that you might recommend for pa? > My husband's endocrinologist retired and he was retired to a > nephrologist. ..I question that he is receiving appropriate care for > his > hyperaldosteronism. .which specialist is correct. > > >
Guest guest
I know Dr DiBona fairly well but dont know if he or Dr. Haynes would be the best for you to see. As Dr. Haynes only sees consultations I would start with his office. He will need a referral but if you send me the details I might be able to do that. By details I mean " Pa's story " . May your pressure be low! CE Grim MS, MD High Blood Pressure Consulting Clinical Professor of Medicine Medical College of Wisconsin Board certified in Internal Med, Geriatrics and Hypertension. Interests: The effect of recent evolutionary forces on high blood pressure in human populations.
