Guest guest
With regard to the transfer of agility skills. Does it not depend on whether its a change in the value of parameters that determine the outcome of a skill as opposed to changing the actual parameters? For example, a short throw and a medium throw may have the same movement parameters but vary in value.e.g. more forceful muscle activation. On the other hand a long throw may involve a different set of parameters and patterning, therefore practising short throws would have little transfer to long throws? These are my general thoughts and the example chosen is theoretical just to highlight my somewhat vague ideas, I'm sure others on the list will elaborate if this is wrong or inaccurate I know Schmidt has done a lot of work in this area and has written a number of books on motor learning and performance, unfortunately I don't have access to them at the moment...
