Guest guest
Hey - I think as long as it is going away then you can plop thehelmet back on-and then I would call CT on Monday and see if you can get in -- they will probably want to do a little adjustment there. always had a red spot where his forehead bossed even when he was wearing it 23 hours a day but it generally was gone by the time his hour was up sometimes hour and a half. But even when I took it off midday it was there-it had to be that was the pressure on the bossed area pushing it in the direction it needed to go-does that make sense? But I think when we first started he always had the red mark but since it is going away so quickly I don't think it is an issue at all. Maybe try extending the time in between checks and monitoring to see if the red spot still goes away just as fast- (does that make sense) if it does then I thin all is OK and I would still put the helmet on. The red mark on the cheek did it reoccur after the nap today? Was the red mark where the helmet was rubbing it or maybe from the sheet??? You ever have bed head face cheek you know what I mean-maybe that is what it was. You are doing a great job don't worry such a good mommy! Hugs to you- beck
Guest guest
, As far as I understood, the spot checks are to check to see how long they fade or if they are very, very dark (like purplish)...as long as at every check the first 2 days they are pink spots and they fade in an hour, they are fine and you should proceed to 23 hours of wear. Grant had pink spots at the pressure points at every check the first few days. He still has them every now and then. Also, he does get pink or red on his face or the back of his neck or wherever he sleeps on. It does fade, though. I think 55 minutes would be okay...just as long as it is around an hour and not much more than that. , Mom to Grant (born 9/26/01) ...in DOCband since 6/14/

Guest guest
Hi , It looks like you have gotten some good replies already so I will just agree that calling the ortho on Monday is a good idea. You don't out of the help anymore then necessary as you don't want growth occurring without it! Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
