In a valiant attempt to reposition Abby and keep her off her flat

spot, she's gotten awfully used to being held. When I try to put her

down, she cries if I'm not right next to her. So I end up toting her

around everywhere (makes trying to go to the bathroom quite an

ordeal) and I don't get a whole lot done. Maybe this is just a

phase...but how do I get her through it? My husband came home from

work and asked what I did today. He wasn't too thrilled when I told

him I held Abby. Any ideas?

Christy:

This is probably just a phase that Abby is going thru. My Abby also

had the " hold me all the time " phase for a short time, thankfully!

Although we are having similar issues now too (she's 28 mos old).

Hopefully she'll get over this soon, in the mean time though, enjoy

the cuddles - it goes too quick!

Christy,

I could have written this post!!! I don't necessarily carry Paige around

in my arms all the time, but now she's getting quite used to being in

the Snuggli.

She's getting harder and harder to put to sleep for a nap because she

wants to be held. I don't want to get into the habit of rocking her to

sleep in my arms because it's a tough habit to break.

I'm hoping it's just a phase too!

Hi,

My daughter, , went through the same thing. The

exersaucer helped quite a bit. I started with that

when she was between 3 and 4 months old. There are

lots of toys attached to this thing and it kept her

entertained for about 15 min's at a time in the

beginning. She's 7 mo's old and in the DOC Band.

Now, she stays in the exersaucer for 20 to 30 minute

stints. You can also drag the exersaucer around with

her in it so, you can drag her to another room with

you or to the bathroom. I forgot what privacy is!

She still likes to be held more than anything, of

course. But now that she's sitting by herself, she

really likes this better as long as I have blocks and

toys around to keep her entertained. Once they hit

the 6-month mark they become a little more

independent. She's still a bit of a " pill " if she

can't see me. Our kitchen and family room are like

one big room and if the coffee table or chair are

blocking her view from me while I'm in the kitchen,

she really has a fit, unless Dad's home. Good luck

with Abby. I hoped I was some help.
