Guest guest
Kate I don't know if it is unrelated or not-but I know the cheek puffiness is common with plagio and due to the excess fluid (?) I think and eventually goes away-maybe hers just goes to her eye or that is where you notice it. I wish I could be more help. 's one eye swells sometimes but she has a clogged tear duct. beck
Guest guest
Kate, I'm trying to think if I recall anyone saying that they have had this problem. I never noticed it with and we always side slept her. If you have some real concern about it (and I probably would!) then check in with your ped and see what he/she has to say. Guest guest
We took Paige to the Ped and he says he can't see anything wrong, even though he could see residual swellling. He says it's not allergies, as both eyes would flare up. He says she might have something stuck in it, but he couldn't see it. He suspects it's a combination of pressure from sleeping on that side and wiggling around a lot (as we know she does). I've been trying to sleep her on her back and prop her shoulder up so that her head doesn't flop to the flat side, and it doesn't seem to be going so badly. She hasn't woken up with a swollen eye since shifting her. Just incase there is something stuck, or another eye problem we see an optometrist on Monday. Guest guest
Kate I think better to be safe than sorry besides that there is a Mom onthis board that works for an eye DR and she said they recc kids with plagio to see one anyhow so take some info and kill tow birds with one stone. I am glad you haven't seen any further swelling hopefully it was a fluke. beck

Guest guest
Kate, It could be from pinching or pressure on that eye- I do remember someone else with this problem saying she thought also it was because they slept on that side- because it was only happening after sleep. Are you still using the positioner? Is this for tort? I was so happy to have the helmet because it truly didn't matter what side he slept on! But, for tort its good to have them sleep both ways, for example: my son had left tort- we could sleep him on his right (after the band was on!), and the left shoulder would be a little stretched. We could sleep him on his right side, and with a small pillow- elevate his head (mostly only for naps, not all night) in the opposite direction of the tilt. I hope you haven't seen anymore swollen eyes since your post! ' Mom
