I have a question...

If gets the DOC band..which i'm sure he is getting it...(i'll find out

for sure on July 10th)... will it most likely work? Or is there a big chance

it might not work? He is a little over 5 months. The specialist had said

that since he is so young..he probably would only have to wear it for like

6-8 weeks...but his head is pretty flat i think..and by sending in the

pictures of him..the responses i got....i'm realizing it's probably more flat

than i want to admit. LOL.

I'm just really hoping he won't have to wear the helmet for too long...it's

bad enough he will have to wear it all summer long. But i'm just really

hoping that it's going to work..and i guess i don't really know the odds of

it working. At his age..is it likely it would work and pretty much get 100%

correction?

Thanks,

Mom to

Does he have facial assymetry and ear misalignment?

When we took him to the specialist 3 weeks ago...he had said that doesn't have any type of facial assymetry or misalighnment yet...so he said that was good. I was happy to hear that too....I hope he still doesn't....

But thank you!!

Every baby is different, of course, but would be starting at a very good

age and it is possible that he could get very close to 100% correction. The

DOCband can do marvelous things! The people at the CT clinic would be the best

ones to ask about time in the band. Again, it is different for every baby. Some

wear them for 4-6 weeks, some for 4-6 months. It depends on how significant and

quick the growth spurts come along. Try not to worry too much about the severity

just yet. We are just guessing about the severity and it is nearly impossible to

tell for sure just from photos. Does he have facial assymetry and ear

misalignment?

Best of wishes and please keep us posted!

The DOCband will definitely improved 's head shape! These

bands work wonders on babies. Especially with 's younger age.

The average time spent in a DOCband is 4.5 mos.. I understand the

orthotist estimated 6-8 wks total time for , but be prepared

that it is possible it could take longer to achieve the best

correction. 's headshape was pretty flat, so it could take a

bit longer to achieve that maximum rounding that you'd love to see.

But the DOCband is very very effective. My daughter is proof of

that, as are thousands of other babies out there!

Let us know what you find out on the 10th!

Thanks so much!! That's what i wanted to hear...LOL. That's what the dr had said..that his age is the perfect age to get it.

I'm so worried that he will hate the band though...i hope it doesn't phase him either. Our dr had said he would probably wear it 6-8 weeks..but i know it could be longer.

's head is pretty flat and his right side is flatter too. He's 5 months now..and his appt is on July 10th..and that's just to confirm that he will get the band...so he probably will be closer to 6 months by the time he gets the band (he'll be 6 months July 21st).

Thanks so much!!

The DOC band most definitely works? Five months of

age is one of the best ages to get it for optimal

results because of growth at that age. My got

her band at 5 mo's and I notice a difference after

just one week! She had moderate plagio with a flat

spot on the right side. She's been wearing it for 8

weeks now and is almost completely round now. She was

projected to wear it for three to four months. I

won't lie to you; the time has not flown b. But, it's

worth it to correct my baby's headshape. I take it

off a couple times a day to wipe off her head and the

band when she gets sweaty, aside from cleaning it with

alcohol two to three times a day. She does great in

the band, it really doesn't phase her. Good luck with

your baby's band.

That's great that he doesn't have those issues. I think that makes a huge

difference because those are two issues that can leave to further medical

complications!

I can feel pretty confident in telling you it will work- I am not

sure about 100% correction but I would say in the 90's wore it from 3-5

months and it was wonderful. It works with head growth so the only reason you

would not see great results with was if he had no growth spurts and

that is just about impossible. You are at a great age to get and complete

treatment quick- so go for it and rest assured you will have success.

Most likely just a swollen lymph node but call your ortho anyway.
