Christy,

We also got our best stretches in while was conked out. I too dreaded the stretches, because it was so tiresome, but I kept telling myself that our window of opportunity was small, so there was a light at the end of the tunnel and I knew that one day it would no longer be part of our daily routine. The good news, is that, the righting or strengthening exercises (used primarily to help the tilt) are soooo much easier! You can do this by just sitting Abby on your lap, facing a good Elmo tape or whatever she likes, and just tilt her to her tort side, the body will have a natural tendency to "right" the head, to keep it straight, and she will use that non-tort muscle to do this. You can incorporate that into all sorts of playtime- Daddy will hold sideways and have him look up and tilt his whole body both ways, to make it fun, and he has a ball! Good luck and keep plugging away- take advantage of this time now so that soon you can say, all done! You can also check out www.torticolliskids for great advice as well. Keep us posted!

Thanks, but I'm just passing on what has been passed on to me. There

hasn't been a single original idea from me yet :)

How's Abby doing? Aside from slowly taking over control of our

household (every minute of our day revolves around her), she's doing

great. Everything, absolutely everything, is going into her

mouth...which is quite an adventure when I'm trying to carry her

around in the Snuggli. She tries to take everything from me, and for

the past 3 days I've been trying to become Betty Crocker. My little

sister is getting married and we've discovered there's A LOT of money

in the wedding cake business. So while Abby's been enjoying the

kitchen, and I've learned that the wedding cake business is

definitely not for me.

Repositioning is going okay, but I'm totally wearisome with the tort

stretching. Ugh. I dread stretching time. I'm sure I'm causing

permanent psychological damage with her crying hysterically and me

not " rescuing " her. So...I try to stretch her while she's sleeping,

but the PT says that Abby really needs to go right into strengthening

exercises after the stretching. What to do?

Thanks for asking...and how's your Abby?

Christy
