Guest guest Posted July 10, 2002 Report Share Posted July 10, 2002 I work for BCBS and the E1399 is a generic dump code that they use for all durable medical equipment. So the reason they won't look at it to pay is that it could be anything that is classified as durable medical equipment. So if they billed it and it is for a large amount under that procedure code it will kick out and they won't pay a generic item that is that much. There should be another code that they can use? I am not sure what it would be I will have to look and see what they billed my childs helmet under?
