Guest guest
My pharmacist wife has confirmed that her wholesaler will have generic Inspra available on April 11th. The manufacturer is Greenstone Labs. The initial cost should be about half of retail, but your milage may vary. That cost should go down after 3-6 months when Greenstone's generic exclusivity will expire (whenever a drug first goes generic, initially only one manufacturer is allowed to make it to confirm quality control or something)... This is VERY good news for U.S. patients as it will prevent a lot of the " formulary fights " that we patients have to go through... and it will significantly reduce costs all around. I didn't expect Inspra would ever go generic, certainly not this early. I didn't believe there was enough demand for the drug... Unfortunately, Phizer really stiffed themselves by refusing to market the drug to nephrologists... now, they will lose even more money... no tears shed here... they had their chance to make millions... now, we get a chance to save some money.
