Hi Marilyn & welcome to our group!

We're glad you found us too! I am happy to hear your new

pediatrician gave Hayden the attention he deserves & needs. When is

your appt with the ped. neuro? Check out this great webpage for a

list of questions to ask the Dr. for your appt:

http://www.plagiocephaly.org/support (then click " questions for the

Dr'). There's a great list of question to ask your specialist or Dr.

What type of insurance do you have? Some insurances do pay, some

don't. Many parents have to appeal several times before they get

coverage. Many companies do consider treatment cosmetic. IF your

specialist does suggest Hayden be treated with a band/helmet, get a

letter of medical necessity, that will definitely help your insurance

payment.

I saw too you live in NC. There is a Cranial Technology clinic in

NC, it's in Charlotte. Are you near Charlotte? That might come in

handy if your son needs a band!!!

Good luck, welcome again to our group. Please let us know when your

son's appt is & how it goes.

Hi Marilyn, and welcome to the group! I think its wonderful that

your current ped is so proactive, as you know from your previous ped,

many of the doctors don't take this seriously. When I took my twins

to their first neuro appt., I took with me a folder stock full of

information with me so I could back everything I said with facts. I

also had a few questions jotted down so that I wouldn't forget to ask

them, I highly recommend you follow that link Debbie already gave

you. As for insurance covering all of this, it varies greatly! My

insurance covered 100% with no hassle, while others only get covered

70%, and some don't get covered at all. What insurance policy do you

have? Maybe someone here can give you some feedback on how that

compnay handles these claims.

We're glad to have you and Hayden with us! Be sure to let us know

how the neuro appt. goes!
