Neither has any sign of tort as they both turn from side to side with ease. They still spend at least 6 hours a day in supervised tummy time...and both can roll over with ease now. We haven't had much luck with the positioning since they became so mobile. Still their eyes are level and their ears are pretty much aligned..it's just the heads that are a little off roundness. Since Zack got his doorway jumper his neck strength has really improved (as he strains to look at the TV). We have our second appointment with the cranio facial plastic surgeon next week, where we can compare numbers to the measurements from last month. If the asymmetry is less than 9mm and they've shown signs of improvement, we probably won't go ahead with the helmets. Even if the tummy time did nothing for their heads, they are both so strong and mobile, I think it's a good idea for babies with perfect spheres for noggins. Here they are last week (sharing Zoey's new fairy chair): http://www.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=67b0de21b3066645e43d Ken Zack and Zoey's dad
Guest guest
Thanks for the update Ken: They are both sooooo cute! The one in the yellow looks so much like one of my niece's it's scary! Adorable! Sounds like they're really growing up & getting around a bit now. That's great neither show any signs of tort & are so strong holding their heads up now. I have no doubt all that tummy time helped a ton! Their heads both looked good to me in their picture. Good luck at the specialist appt next week. Please let us know how it goes. Guest guest
Hi Ken, its good to hear from you again! Zack and Zoey are absolutely adorable, and I think their heads look great!!! You've done a great job, and should be very proud of yourslef as well as your little duo there! Please be sure to let us know how the appointment goes next week. I would really be shocked if they needed a helmet, they look terrific to me! Guest guest
Ken, Great report! You are so good about sticking with and pushing the tummy time. If ever has a sibling (unlikely) I will surely do a whole lot more of that! I think it does make for stronger babies with better motor skills (rolling, crawling, etc). I'm glad to hear of the improvement and hope all goes well with the specialist next week. They are beautiful children - I love the picture!
