Guest guest
I had a post surgery appt. yesterday and received a copy of the pathology report. I had my left adrenal gland removed. Under microscopic description it states: the sections show a cortical adenoma measuring 0.9 cm. It is a mixture of fasciculata and glomerulosa-type cells. The nuclei are small and round and there is little pleomorphism. The background adrenal gland shows a prominent glomerulosa layer. Occasional cortical micronodules, usually composed of fasciculata cells, are seen. I am doing well and happy to be off spiro. My BP and potassium readings have been excellent. I had headaches after surgery for about a week and continue taking anti migraine medication as before. I had mixed feelings about having surgery but now I don't regret my decision to have it. I am curious about post surgery care... continue on a low salt diet? how often or do you get blood work done? My doctor says once a month for electroyles. I think Helen mentioned getting her aldosterone levels checked post surgery?? I guess I am wondering if you are still considered a PA patient? I made a comment to the surgeon about being cured. He seemed to agree.
