Guest guest
Thank you all so much for your kind words and comforting support. Being a part of this group is making this journey much easier. I forwarded your responses to my husband so I'm hoping it will make him feel better. Part of the reason I think it is easier for me than for him is this group. Here is 's update. He did not sleep in the band again last night because the pink spot on his right forehead was still there. I did call CT and since I was out yesterday, I didn't speak to the OT directly so I decided for him not sleep in it again. This morning, the pink spot was finally gone. I did speak with Charlotte today and she said continue the checks and if they don't disappear in the hour, not to have him sleep in it again tonight but if they do, to have him sleep in it. When I checked it today, the red spot on the forehead disappeared in a half hour but there was a new spot behind his right ear at the opening of the band. It was really dark red- almost purple. I think that was the case because he did nap in the band for an hour. This didn't disappear for 2 hours. With the next check, it disappeard in the hour but I was still concerned about the dark red spot after sleeping. So, I elected for him not to sleep in it again tonight. I'm afraid that there is too much pressure when he sleeps. I'm so torn because I'm anxious for him to sleep in it and I feel like I'm doing the wrong thing by having him not sleep in it. But the concern for the pressure while sleeping is making my decision for me. The red spot did go away within the hour but that was without the pressure of sleeping. Any suggestions or words of wisdom? Charlotte gave me her cell # to call tomorrow if there are any problems. Also, the band seems to be crooked on his head. Charlotte said that was because of the flat spot. The band comes down and almost blocks his right eye and the left side is up above his eye. Seems to be a little worse than when Charlotte saw it the first day. Any thoughts? Thanks again for your support. ann/ NJ
