It's been a few months since I've posted and I wanted to update

everyone on Jessie's progress. She is out of her first band as of

this past Saturday. We started with a difference of 21mm in her

cranial vault measurement and are down to 11mm. We are very pleased

with Jessie's progress in the first helmet. Her ears have moved into

place beautifully and she has filled in quite well on the left front

side. Her head is still noticably flat on the back right side however

and for this reason we have decided to put her in a second helmet.

KKR said there are no guarantees, but she said Jessie's head will

continue to grow through 18 mos. and we could continue to see good

progress. I want to be able to tell her one day that once we knew

there was a problem, we did everything in our power to help her head

round out. She will be 16 mos. on July 16th. Anyone out there put an

older child in a second helmet? If so, I would love some feedback.

KKR said we could possibly get her down to 5mm. It would be great to

hear some success stories. Also, to the moderators: how can I get set

up to receive e-mail again so I don't have to get to this site each

time? Thanks, Theresa & Jessie

Hey Theresa congratulations on the great progress you have seen so far. I

think the second band is definitely a good decision for you- I hope casting

doesn't suck too much:-) But it will be over soon. KKR is wonderful-you are

fortunate there as well. I don't have personal experience with banding an

older baby but I am sure many of our other moms will chime in with their

great success stories. Keep us posted and post some pictures if you can. Good

luck!

Hi Theresa:

It's so great to hear from you again! I'll check out your membership

& switch it to emails if noone else hasn't already.

I'm so happy to read of Jessie's good improvement with her 1st band.

I bet you'll still get some more improvment with her 2nd band! Keep

feeding her lots of spinach. Her ears sound like they are perfect

now! That's great news.

Please keep us updated...glad things have gone so well so far. Happy

4th!
