Paige has been waking up in the mornings with a swollen eye. It's not

everyday, and sometimes it's worse than others.

At first I thought it was a dog hair or something she rubbed into it,

but putting a cold cloth on it at every diaper change gets the swelling

down before noon. I don't think it's allergies because it's only one eye.

What I never clued into though is that its the side she sleeps on now

that we have success at night with the pinned positioner.

Could lying on her side somehow be causing this swelling? It's towards

the outer part of the eye, but it swells both above and below the eye.

It doesn't seem to bother her, she doesn't rub at it or fuss, although

she might blink a bit more.

Anyone else encounter this or is it completely unrelated?

Kate:

It's pretty hard to say if this is plagio related or not. My almost

2 yr old nephew just got over a swollen eye 2 days ago - he got it

out of the blue, my sister took him to the Dr. & was told it was a

bacterial infection. They put him on antibiotics - 24 hrs later he

was fine. My nephew also just got over mono where he had swollen

lymph nodes & a swollen belly...poor fella! But his swollen eye

didn't bother him one bit either...he didn't itch or rub it & was

happy.

Keep your eye on it, if it doesn't get better soon, you might want to

take her to the Dr.

Hi ,

It's not too uncommon for this to happen. I think you should call

your CT and just let them know what is going on. Keep us posted.

, I agree with . If nothing else they can note it in her

file. Let us know what they say.

CT said leave the band on and just watch it today (which I already

asked daycare to do). She said it isn't uncommon for swelling to

happen if they sleep on it weird and for an extended period, but that

it isn't cause for concern unless it doesn't go away. I know Jordyn

slept on it pretty much the entire night. Everytime I went in to

check on her, she was rolled over on her face. I kept trying to put

her on her side or back, but she would just roll right over again.

Stubborn girl!!

She just looks so pitiful today - like she's been in a boxing match

but without the bruises! *L*

Thanks for your input...
