Guest guest
Ken: Your appt sounds like it went very well today & you actually sound a bit relieved that you have come to a decision to get the twins helmets. I'm sure you'll never regret your decision. Let us know when you get your casting appt scheduled Also, what terrific news about your insurance first knowing what plagio is and then saying they'll be covered at 80%! Let's hope that will be the case. I can't remember ever hearing of Nopco horror stories. I'm sure they'll hit good growth spurts & have excellent correction being so young yet! Guest guest
Ken, We are at the same stage. Kayla just rec'd her helmet today, she is also 5 months old today. She is adjusting very well. She doesn't even realize she has it on. We are also using a locally made helmet through the University of Michigan. We've experienced a couple of red spots so I suspect she will need a few adjustments at first. Like you my husband and I were very prepared for the outcome. Please keep me posted as you move forward and get your helmets. Sincerely, Kathy > Howdy all... > > Well after meeting with our cranio-facial plastic surgeon today, > we've decided to go ahead with helmets. We're busy kissing their naked noggins as much as we can right now. Though knowing we can finally put them on their backs guilt free will be great. Guest guest
Ken, Maybe thats what's wrong with some of this medical community...they aren't in suburban mode! You really sound comfortable and relieved with your decision to go ahead and get helmets for the twins, and that is awesome! We have had quite a few members use NOPCO, and I honestly can't remember anyone not being satisfied. You are very fortunate to have a very proactive specialist who doesn't scoff at the idea of helmets. And congrats on insurance covering 80%!! You know, my dad works in a Harley shop (the man is 50 and we can't get him off his bike) and I never thought to get my twins custom designs on their bands!! I could kick myself, I bet that would have looked so cute on my son. But I don't think my hubby would care for me turning our daughter into a biker chick ;o) Keep us posted and let us know when you get the appointment for the casting. Good luck!
