Debbie Abby's mom DOCgrad MI > > Hey everyone, > I hate to ask you guys this but I am in need of some GLV here. I dont know how many of you may or may not know but I am 33 and was diagnosed with discoid lupus (of the skin) 10 years ago then 5 years later it was diagnosed as systemic (can affect my vital organs) so for the last 5 years my ANA Lupus antibodies have been there w/no real signs of worsening. Last week I went in for my every 3 mo blood work, 2 days later I got a call that they were abnormal I needed to go back for a follow up. Well it was my liver the normal high level is 40 (thats what they told me) and I was at 78 so I went in for the re-test and it has gone up even more I didnt ask what it went up to because I was so scared I didnt really want to know. Anywho, I had to go back again yesterday to have a full liver work up dont and a full hepatitis panel done. The Nurse said they dont think it is Hep. but they have to run it to rule it out before they refer me to a specialist. I wont know the results of these until next Tuesday so I am a little scared. I have 2 young kids and I am so afraid my lupis is getting worse and setting into my liver. I hate to seem like I always have " Bad News " but I cant help it. On a good note my Grandma is doing Great, crabby as ever and Braeden only has 1 more week left of the helmet and has a beautiful head! stinky but beautiful. So if you guys can just keep your fingers crossed for me. And if anyone here knows about Lupus and your Liver PLEASE let me know what you do. Guest guest
HI Trisha, I'm new here but just wanted to say I'm sorry you are having such a hard time dealing with Lupus. I'm worried I'll be going down that road soon. I have a couple of autoimmune problems - which actually kept me from getting pregnant for 6 years! It also affects my insulin levels and my thyroid. I also had to take low-dose aspirin throughout my pregnancy so I wouldn't miscarry. Luckily it worked and my son, Mack, is 7 weeks today. I am positive for ANA (antinuclear), anticardiolipin and peroxidase (thyroid/Hashimoto's Disease) antibodies. I'm sure those pesky Lupus Anticoagulant ones will show up someday. Is that what your test showed? Anyway, hang in there. I hope things don't get worse and I pray that you're liver is fine. in NH
Guest guest
, I'm sorry to here you to have autoimmune problems. I never had a hard time getting prego I had to have sonos bi-weekly and had to take baby asprin and iron throughout both of my pregnancys I also have sjogrens (spelling) I know how to say it but not spell it. I first found out I had disoid when I got the butterfly rash and it wouldnt go away for over a month and I had 2 biopsys done on my face and both were (+) but then ANA was negative for 5 years so they thought I would not have the systemic and then .... there ya go like a slap in the face it shows up...I guess since that was 5 years ago it was time for something else to show up....I am just so scared....I to be honest have blocked it (Lupus & sjogrens) out of my mind and have lived like I dont have any problems because I have always been afraid to face it I have been going every 3 months to have labs run and check in w/my reumatologist but thats it....I guess I have brought it on my self...I hope they dont show up w/you....if you want to talk you can e-mail me privately ....BTW Welcome to our group!!! Guest guest
Trisha, I am definetly thinking of you and sending you postive vibes your way. I just heard my boss and co-worker talking about his liver count, and that he has been using some kind of medicine to raise his enzyme (?) count- but unfortunately, neither one is here today!!!! If you think this might help you or is in anyway related, please send me a reminder email and I will find out what they are taking or talking about! Good luck vibes, good luck vibes.... ' Mom P.S. Great news about Grandma and a big high five that Braeden will be done next week!!!
Guest guest
Trisha, Yikes! Girl, you need a break! Do you know what liver test they did that was high? Was it an enzyme or some sort of antibody test? I'm a med tech, and although it's been a few years, I still remember some of my 5 years of college chemistry classes. I also still have a really good clinical chemistry book. Are you looking for any specific information? Let me know what you need and I'll try and come up with some info. Take it easy. Guest guest
Hi Trisha Sorry to hear your news. I sort of understand, when Dylan started his Helmet treatment i was diagnosed with reactive arthritis caused by a strep throat infection. What happens is my joints swell up till i am in agony and can hardly walk. My rheumatologist has got me trying different drugs to control it. I am the same with 2 youngs boys and worry about the future. i do realise that what i have is not as serious as your liver. I have to have monthly blood test too as the drugs i am taking can affect your liver. I have hoping you get good news Trisha. Hang in there, i am thinking of you. lots of hugs to you Kerry - Marcus (3) Dylan (17months) Calgary,AB >From: " stripes6060 " <taime@...> >Reply-Plagiocephaly >Plagiocephaly >Subject: Re: Need some Good Luck Vibes >Date: Fri, 12 Jul 2002 14:37:42 -0000 > >Trisha, >I'm so sorry.
